Authenticated command execution via unescaped move path
Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026
OS command injection in Chamilo LMS before 1.11.38 and 2.0.0-alpha.1 through 2.0.0-RC.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The move() function in fileManage.lib.php passes the move_to path through an HTML-only filter, then concatenates it unquoted into exec() shell commands. Exploitation requires a teacher-capable account and a directory name containing shell metacharacters, after which commands run with the web server user's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
