Denial of service via non-terminating SYLT parsing
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Infinite-loop parsing in tinytag 2.2.0 allows attackers to hang metadata-processing tasks by supplying a malformed MP3 file. In _parse_synced_lyrics, a missing SYLT string terminator makes _find_string_end_pos return zero, resetting the loop offset instead of advancing it. Exploitation requires an integration to parse the supplied file; the parsing worker remains busy until externally terminated.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
