CVE-2026-32873Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated service exhaustion via rejected trailers

Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026

Denial of service in Vladislav Shakitskiy's ewe 0.8.0 through 3.0.4 allows remote attackers to hang server processes via chunked requests. The handle_trailers function recurses with the original buffer after rejecting a forbidden or undeclared trailer, so decoder.decode_packet reparses the same header indefinitely. Any unauthenticated client reaching an application that calls ewe.read_body on a chunked request can wedge a BEAM process at 100% CPU with no timeout.
