Arbitrary code execution via malformed VI resource data
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in NI LabVIEW 26.1.0 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted VI file. ResFileFactory::InitResourceMgr() writes beyond a buffer while initializing resource data from a malformed VI; NI has not disclosed the missing bounds condition. Execution occurs in the user's LabVIEW process after that user opens or loads the file, allowing information disclosure or arbitrary code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <23.0.0
