Cleartext credential storage in Edimax GS-5008PL firmware 1.00.54 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read administrator credentials. The fupload.cgi endpoint returns config.bin with plaintext username and password fields instead of protecting stored credentials. Access to the password-protected remote management interface is required, and disclosure grants administrative credentials without altering configuration or interrupting service.
