Unauthenticated administrative access via global authentication state
Published Mar 17, 2026 · Updated Mar 17, 2026
Authentication bypass in Edimax GS-5008PL firmware 1.00.54 and earlier allows remote attackers to access its management interface without credentials. The web interface stores authentication in a global flag shared across clients instead of binding authorization state to each client session. Reachability requires any user to have authenticated first; afterward, an unauthenticated client gains administrative functions for password changes, firmware uploads, and configuration changes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
