Stored XSS via unsanitized device name
Published Mar 17, 2026 · Updated Mar 17, 2026
Stored XSS in Edimax GS-5008PL firmware 1.00.54 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in administrators' browsers. The system_name_set.cgi handler stores a crafted sysName value without neutralizing script markup, and management pages later load it through system_data.js. Exploitation requires management access and an administrator to view an affected page, placing the script in that administrator's browser context.
