Authorization bypass via query-string path re-encoding
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Authorization bypass in dadrus Heimdall 0.7.0-alpha through 0.17.10 allows remote attackers to evade path rules via query strings. The Envoy gRPC request-context builder places the combined path and query into a URL Path, so Go re-encodes the question mark and rule matching sees a different path. Exploitation requires Envoy gRPC decision mode, a non-wildcard deny rule, and an allow-all default, permitting access that the rule was intended to block.
