Authenticated file writes via pre-normalization rule check
Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026
Path traversal in File Browser 2.61.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write or move files into deny-protected paths. resourcePatchHandler checks the raw PATCH destination against access rules before path.Clean resolves dot-dot segments for the file operation. Exploitation requires Create or Rename permission and a crafted destination; writes remain inside BasePathFs and cannot read protected files.
