Author PII disclosure via unfiltered model serialization
Published Mar 18, 2026 · Updated Mar 18, 2026
Missing authorization in Hytale Modding Wiki before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read mod authors' names and email addresses. ModController and PageController pass loaded Mod and User models to Inertia responses, causing full owner objects to be serialized without field filtering or an authorization check. Any self-registered account can request a mod page by slug and harvest author PII, while integrity and availability remain unaffected.
