Arbitrary code execution via unsafe ZIP extraction
Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026
Path traversal in AnythingLLM 1.11.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the plugin directory. ImportedPlugin.importCommunityItemFromUrl() passes an unvalidated community-hub ZIP to AdmZip.extractAllTo(), allowing traversal entries to escape the destination. An administrator must approve and download an unverified hub item; a planted agent plugin then executes with server-process privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
