Continued authenticated access via unchecked extension API keys
Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Mintplex Labs AnythingLLM 1.11.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to retain suspended access. The validBrowserExtensionApiKey middleware accepts a stored brx- API key and loads its user context without checking the user's suspended flag. A previously authorized manager must retain a key created before suspension; access remains limited to reachable workspace metadata and upload or embed operations.
