Incorrect authorization in AnythingLLM 1.11.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read credentials and alter global settings. The generic GET and POST system-preferences endpoints admit managers; the getter returns plaintext SQL connection details, while updateSettings accepts protected admin-only keys. Exploitation requires multi-user mode and a manager account, exposing configured database credentials and permitting instance-wide prompt or API-key changes.
