FTP service interruption via faulty session validation
Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026
Session-validation logic errors in PX4 Autopilot before 1.17.0-rc2 allow remote attackers to interrupt MAVLink FTP operations. The _workBurst and _workWrite paths combine an invalid session ID and closed descriptor test with AND instead of OR, allowing either invalid state to pass. Exploitation requires access to an adjacent MAVLink channel, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to FTP isolation bypass, error paths, and service interruption.
