Flight-control crash via unchecked CRSF packet copy
Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026
Global buffer overflow in PX4 Autopilot before 1.17.0-rc2 allows physically proximate attackers to crash flight control via CRSF serial input. In CrsfParser.cpp, variable-length known packets bypass maximum-length rejection, and QueueBuffer_PeekBuffer() performs an unchecked memcpy into process_buffer[64]. Reachability requires crsf_rc on a CRSF serial port and raw serial injection; exploitation corrupts memory and crashes the PX4 process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
