Administrator-triggered code execution via custom-field SQL injection
Published Mar 18, 2026 · Updated Mar 18, 2026
SQL injection in OpenProject before 16.6.9, 17.0.6, 17.1.3, and 17.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL. Cost Report generation interpolates an administrator-created custom-field name into a SQL query without sanitization. A full administrator can alter the project identifier, direct the Repositories module to check out Git content into an application path, and execute injected Ruby code after restart.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
