SYSTEM privilege escalation via writable installation folder
Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026
Incorrect default permissions in RATOC RAID Monitoring Manager for Windows before 2.00.009.260220 allow local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. When a non-default installation folder is selected, the installer leaves its ACL writable by non-administrative users, enabling installed contents to be altered. Exploitation requires a customized installation path and local low-privileged access; modified contents execute with SYSTEM privileges.
