Unauthorized temporary address creation via OpenWire subscription
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Apache Artemis 2.0.0 through 2.44.0 and 2.50.0 through 2.52.0 allows remote authenticated users to create addresses. The OpenWire consumer path accepts a non-durable JMS topic subscription to a nonexistent address by checking createDurableQueue permission without requiring createAddress permission when address auto-creation is disabled. Exploitation requires an authenticated account with createDurableQueue but not createAddress permission; the unauthorized address persists only until the OpenWire connection closes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
