Hub impersonation via unverified vault endpoints
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Origin validation failure in Cryptomator before 1.19.1 allows remote authenticated users to steal Hub session tokens via a tampered vault. The Hub key-loading workflow accepts authentication and API endpoints from vault.cryptomator without verifying host authenticity, allowing a legitimate authentication endpoint to be paired with an attacker-controlled API endpoint. Exploitation requires write access to encrypted cloud data and a user unlocking a Hub-backed vault; stolen tokens permit Hub impersonation and access to unencrypted metadata, not vault contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
