Account takeover via user-controlled profile target ID
Published Mar 23, 2026 · Updated Mar 23, 2026
Improper authorization in Connect-CMS 1.41.0 and earlier and 2.0.0 through 2.41.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts. ProfileMypage::update trusts an account ID embedded in the profile-update URL, loads that record, and writes submitted fields or a new password without binding the target to the authenticated account. Any authenticated account that can reach the profile feature can alter a different account's profile or password, enabling takeover without user interaction.
