Root command execution via unsanitized configuration values
Published Mar 17, 2026 · Updated Mar 17, 2026
OS command injection in Angeet ES3 KVM allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root through its configuration service. The cfg.lua script passes user-controlled configuration values directly to os.execute() without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation alone requires a high-privilege device account; chaining the separate unauthenticated file-write flaw exposes port 8888 to pre-authentication root code execution.
