Missing authentication in the UART console of GL.iNet Comet (GL-RM1) before 1.8.2 allows physically proximate attackers to gain root access. The serial interface presents boot logs and then a root shell without requesting credentials or displaying a login prompt. Exploitation requires opening the appliance and connecting to its board-level UART pins, after which the attacker bypasses network-facing access controls and gains full control of the KVM.
