CVE-2026-3227Public exploit

Root command execution via unsanitized interface field

Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026

OS command injection in TP-Link TL-WR802N v4, TL-WR841N v14, and TL-WR840N v6 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The port-trigger path inserts the configuration-controlled X_TP_IfName value into an iptables command and passes it to util_execSystem without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access, administrative credentials, a crafted configuration import, and subsequent port-trigger processing; successful execution grants full control of the router.
