Authentication bypass via misaligned OAuth2 validation arguments
Published Mar 12, 2026 · Updated Mar 12, 2026
Incorrect OAuth2 app ID validation in Parse Server allows remote attackers to authenticate from disallowed app contexts. OAuth2Adapter.validateAppId accepts only authData although its caller passes appIds first, so it reads the wrong argument and sends an undefined token for introspection. Exposure requires appidField and appIds plus an introspection endpoint that accepts the malformed request; other endpoints instead reject every OAuth2 login.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 8.0.2, < 8.6.39
