Authenticated RCE via uncleansed behavior configuration
Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026
Behavior injection in Craft CMS 4.0.0-RC1 through 4.17.4 and 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.9.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. ElementIndexesController::actionFilterHud passes parsed condition configuration to createCondition without cleansing it, while FieldsController::actionRenderSettings configures a field from uncleansed settings; Yii behavior syntax then attaches a malicious gadget. Control-panel administrator access and allowAdminChanges enabled are required, after which the gadget chain executes arbitrary server commands.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 4.0.0-RC1, < 4.17.5
