Authenticated RCE via uncleaned entry-type settings
Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026
Code injection in Pixel & Tonic Craft CMS 5.6.0 through 5.9.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server commands. EntryTypesController::actionApplyOverrideSettings parses request data into a settings array and passes it to Craft::configure without cleansing behavior and event-handler keys. Exploitation requires Craft control panel administrator permissions and enabled allowAdminChanges, after which injected Yii2 configuration reaches a command-execution gadget chain.
