CVE-2026-32262Network attack vector

Authenticated file deletion via unsanitized asset filename

Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026

Path traversal in Craft CMS 4.0.0-RC1 through 4.17.4 and 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.9.10 allows remote authenticated users to delete files. AssetsController::actionReplaceFile passes the unsanitized targetFilename body value to deleteFile before asset-name normalization, allowing parent-directory traversal. The attacker needs replaceFiles permission, and deletion is confined to folders or volumes sharing the configured local filesystem root.
