CVE-2026-32238Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unescaped backup identifiers

Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026

Command injection in OpenEMR before 8.0.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating system commands through backups. In interface/main/backup.php, database-validated list and layout IDs are SQL-escaped but concatenated into shell commands without shell escaping. High-privilege application access and no user interaction are required; successful injection runs commands with the web server's privileges.
