Authenticated script injection via unsanitized media URI
Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Drupal Islandora before 2.17.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject script via crafted media URI paths. The custom media-attachment route processes URI path input without sufficient sanitization, enabling arbitrary file upload and script injection through crafted paths. Exploitation requires create-media permission and edit access to the node receiving the media, and successful script execution requires a user to render the affected content.
