CVE-2026-32107

Local root code execution via failed privilege drop

Published Apr 17, 2026 · Updated Apr 17, 2026

Improper privilege management in xrdp 0.10.5 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code as root after a failed privilege drop. The sesexec session child attempts setuid() for the authenticated account but continues launching session processes when the call returns an error. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and an additional means to make setuid() fail; the resulting child processes retain root privileges.
