Visitor-level storage takeover via missing await
Published Mar 11, 2026 · Updated Mar 11, 2026
Incorrect authorization in StudioCMS S3 Storage Manager before 0.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to control S3 files. The POST and PUT handlers negate the Promise returned by isAuthorized() without awaiting it, so the truthy Promise prevents the 401 branch from running. A visitor-role session is sufficient to list, upload, rename, or delete bucket objects and generate presigned download URLs.
