Cross-thread file access via missing message authorization
Published Mar 11, 2026 · Updated Mar 11, 2026
Improper authorization in PingPong before 7.27.2 allows remote authenticated users to retrieve or delete private files through thread endpoints. The download, image, and deletion handlers relied on requested file identifiers without enforcing message-scoped authorization. Viewing any thread enabled cross-thread retrieval, while participation in any thread enabled deletion of user uploads and model outputs.
