Write-scope privilege escalation via missing owner-only gating
Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026
Incorrect authorization in OpenClaw before 2026.3.1 allows remote authenticated users with operator.write scope to invoke owner-only tools. Agent-run tool dispatch omits consistent owner-only gating for the gateway and cron surfaces and classifies them within write scope. Scoped-token deployments are exposed, allowing a write-scoped caller to perform control-plane actions reserved for owners.
