Sandbox escape via unenforced cross-agent inheritance
Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026
Sandbox inheritance failure in OpenClaw before 2026.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to escape runtime confinement via sessions_spawn. The cross-agent spawn path resolves a child under an agent configured with sandbox.mode set to off without carrying forward the requester's sandbox requirement. Exploitation requires a mixed-agent setup that permits cross-agent spawning, and it grants the child runtime the unsandboxed agent's host-access capabilities.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
