Sensitive file disclosure via unchecked SCP path
Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026
Path traversal in OpenClaw before 2026.2.19 allows remote attackers to read files from a configured Messages Mac via SCP. The stageSandboxMedia function passes an attacker-influenced absolute attachment path to SCP without restricting it to expected iMessage attachment directories. Exploitation requires attachment ingestion, remote attachment mode, and tampered path metadata; exposure is limited to files readable by the OpenClaw process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
