Arbitrary file read via grep positional operand
Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026
Policy bypass in tools.exec.safeBins in OpenClaw before 2026.2.21 allows remote authenticated users to read working-directory files. The grep profile allowed one positional argument after -e consumed its pattern, so that remaining argument was treated as a filename instead of stdin-only input. Exploitation requires grep to be added to the non-default safe-bin list and access to invoke exec tooling; exposed data is limited to readable bare-relative files in the process working directory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
