Symlink traversal in OpenClaw before 2026.2.25 allows remote authenticated users to read or write host files through Gateway agent file calls. The agents.files.get and agents.files.set handlers accept allowlisted workspace names but follow symbolic links without confirming that resolved targets remain inside the workspace. Exploitation requires access to a Gateway method and a symlinked allowlisted file; resulting access is limited to gateway process permissions, while chosen overwrites can enable code execution.
