CVE-2026-31996

File read and write via unsafe safeBins flags

Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026

Input validation bypass in OpenClaw before 2026.2.19 allows local users with command-execution access to read or write files. The tools.exec.safeBins policy permits sort -o or --output and recursive grep flags through paths intended to accept stdin-only utilities. Exploitation requires tools.exec.safeBins to be enabled and command-execution access; it enables arbitrary file writes or recursive reads under the OpenClaw process account.
