Local command execution via unsafe task script generation
Published Mar 19, 2026 · Updated Mar 19, 2026
Command injection in OpenClaw before 2026.2.19 allows local users to execute commands through Windows scheduled task scripts. The Windows daemon generator in src/daemon/schtasks.ts writes metacharacters, expansion tokens, and CR/LF sequences into gateway.cmd fields without complete quoting, escaping, or line-break rejection. Exploitation requires control of install-time, runtime, or environment-derived values used to generate the service script, and commands run in the scheduled task context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
