CVE-2026-3196

Host denial of service via PCM_INFO integer overflow

Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026

Integer overflow in QEMU 8.2.0 through 10.2.1 allows guest OS users to exhaust host memory via crafted virtio-snd PCM_INFO requests. virtio_snd_handle_pcm_info multiplies guest-controlled count and size values and adds a header size without checking for unsigned overflow before comparing the required response size. A guest must have access to the emulated virtio-snd device; successful exploitation consumes unbounded host memory and can interrupt the host service.
