Authenticated server crash via missing request validation
Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026
Uncaught exception in LibreChat before 0.8.3-rc1 allows remote authenticated users to crash the server via malformed deletion requests. The DELETE /api/convos handler destructures req.body.arg without checking that it exists, and the resulting TypeError escapes Express handling and reaches an uncaught-exception handler that calls process.exit(1). Any user with a valid JWT can terminate the Node.js process, interrupting service for all users until it restarts.
