Process termination via invalid BPF opcode

Reachable assertion in The Tcpdump Group libpcap before 1.10.7 allows local users to terminate a process via a crafted BPF program. The pcapint_filter_with_aux_data() interpreter calls abort() on an unrecognized instruction instead of rejecting the packet. Reachability requires an application to evaluate an externally supplied compiled filter through pcap_offline_filter() or bpf_filter(); libpcap-generated filters do not contain invalid opcodes.
