Authenticated domain configuration modification via missing authorization
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Broken object authorization in Umbraco CMS 14.0.0 through 16.5.0 and 17.0.0 through 17.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter domain data. The backoffice API endpoint assigns domain configuration to a requested content node without enforcing the caller's group privileges or start-node access. Backoffice access is required; exploitation can alter content routing or interrupt service, with no direct content disclosure reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
