Authenticated group escalation via unescaped LDAP identifiers
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
LDAP injection in Parse Server before 8.6.26 and 9.0.0 through 9.5.2-alpha.12 allows remote authenticated users to bypass LDAP group checks. The LDAP authentication adapter inserts authData.id directly into bind DNs and group search filters without escaping LDAP special characters. Valid LDAP credentials and group-based access control are required; successful injection assigns the account to a restricted group without authorization.
