Use-after-free via unlocked driver matching

Use-after-free in the Linux Kernel driver core was initially reported as allowing attackers to trigger a driver-matching race. bind_store() and __driver_attach() called driver_match_device() without device_lock, allowing driver_override memory to be freed while bus match callbacks used it. The report did not establish an exploitation gate or bounded security impact, and the Linux CNA later rejected the identifier and withdrew its applicability assertions.
