CVE-2026-31675

Kernel memory corruption via zero-length packet head

Published Apr 25, 2026 · Updated Apr 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in affected Linux Kernel versions allows local users to corrupt kernel memory via crafted non-linear packets. In netem_enqueue(), a zero skb_headlen() value reaches get_random_u32_below(0), whose unconstrained result is used as an offset when modifying skb->data. Reachability requires an AF_PACKET TX_RING to send a fully non-linear packet through an IPIP tunnel into the netem packet-corruption path.
