System hang via disabled NOC_HDCP clock
Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel allows local users to hang affected NXP IMX8MP systems during power-domain shutdown. The imx8mp-blk-ctrl driver disables NOC_HDCP while the NoC ADB400 port still needs that clock to finish the power-down handshake. Reachability requires an IMX8MP platform using this power-domain path; the failure stalls the system without reported data disclosure or modification.
