CVE-2026-31636Network attack vector

Kernel memory disclosure or crash via pointer scaling

Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux Kernel rxrpc allows remote attackers to read kernel memory or crash systems via malformed RESPONSE authenticators. rxgk_verify_authenticator() treats the byte-sized auth_len as a count of __be32 elements when forming the parser limit, extending it to four times the allocated temporary buffer. Network access to an rxrpc endpoint is sufficient; parsing the crafted authenticator reads beyond the allocation and can expose adjacent memory or trigger a kernel crash.
