Local denial of service via unprotected GPU reset
Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026
Denial of service in Linux Kernel 6.19 through 6.19.9 allows local users to interrupt service through the Xe driver ccs_mode control. ccs_mode_store() calls xe_gt_reset() without holding the outer runtime PM reference required by xe_pm_runtime_get_noresume(), leaving the reset operation unprotected. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and the Xe driver path; triggering it produces a missing-protection warning and compromises availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
