Use-after-free in Linux Kernel 6.16 through 6.19.9 allows local users with CAP_SYS_ADMIN to cause unspecified impact during trace-instance deletion. During teardown, kernel/trace/trace.c clears copy_trace_marker before update_marker_trace() checks for a state change, so synchronize_rcu() is skipped while readers can retain the removed trace_array descriptor. Exploitation requires root or CAP_SYS_ADMIN access to tracefs, creation and removal of a tracing instance, and use of copy_trace_marker; no narrower consequence has been published.
